Social Activities
The Black
Student Union seeks to foster networks between students that make college
life more enriching.
The Comedy
Show
Every year we sponsor a Comedy Show. Amateur acts are recruited to perform
in the popular "Apollo" style comedy show. We feature a professional
stand-up comedian and the audience selects the winner of the contest.
The Talent
Show
Each year we gather the most talented and creative acts in the city
and bring them to UIC for an evening of laughing, crying and just plain
fun. The talent show is one of the most widely attended events on campus.
Black
Family Night Out
Black Family Night Out (BFNO) is a monthly event where all black students
on campus are invited to one location to socialize and network. This
event is a collective effort all the black student organizations. Activities
include gamming, dinning, and dancing. This event is open to faculty,
staff and community members.
Back to
School Party
As we know that coming back to school can be somewhat laborious we thought
that having a good old-fashioned party where students, new and old,
could come together and dance to the music!
The Barbeque
Each academic year we sponsor a two Barbeques - one at the beginning
of the fall term and one at the end of the spring term. At the barbeque
there is football, Frisbee, soccer and other out-door games. The food
is free and the fun is good.
